Chief Brian Baker Brian is a 29-year veteran of the Skokie Police Department and was promoted to the rank of Chief in November of 2020. Over his years with the Skokie Police Department, Brian has served as Deputy Chief Field Operations, Deputy Chief Administrative Services, and in numerous
positions in Patrol, Special Operations and Investigations. Brian also had 26 years of service in tactical police operations with Skokie’s Tactical Intervention Unit and with the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System Emergency Services Team (NIPAS-EST) where he concluded as the EST Commander. Brian is a retired Major and veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve where he served 23 years as an Intelligence Officer in Special Operations Forces. Brian was mobilized right after 9-11 to the National Ground Intelligence Center and Joint Special Operations Command where he deployed for Operation Enduring Freedom working counter terrorism. Brian served as the Chairman of the Chicago Division of the FBI’s Terrorism Liaison Officer Committee and was on the Executive Board for the Chicago FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force. Brian currently serves as Vice President of the NIPAS Board of Officers and Vice President of the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force (NORTAF). “
